Fear

"We were bought up in a society which wore blinkers. One which clung disparately to the idea of empire and supremacy of our northern race, loving Africa but holding it at arms length, never letting it get too close, afraid of what might happen once we dropped our guard. Lyall Watson

This statement will hit home to all white South Africans growing up in apartheid. I was one of them having guilt and shame for that time like most thinking white South Africans do.

However the longer you stay away out of fear for this beloved land means you continue to perpetuate that guilt and shame. It is a giving in to fear, the lasting effect of apartheid.
SOUTH AFRICANS come home and brave up to change.
